A holiday home with character in the midst of nature
The Orne is full of mills dotting the river's tributaries.
Situated alongside one of them, La Bannerie was still an active flour mill in the Argentan region at the beginning of the 20th century.
The Bannerie holiday rental has been converted from the outbuildings of its former water mill to welcome you to the heart of the Normandy countryside.
From its former status as a granary, the gîte has retained a few traces, such as its slightly low entrance door, reached by a wooden staircase.
Behind this door you'll find a comfortable and elegant place to spend your holiday or weekend.
With a surface area of around 100 m², the gîte can accommodate two to six people.
Bedrooms
The house has three comfortable bedrooms.
On the west side, the Chambre aux Magnolias has a double bed (140cm), parquet flooring, a marble fireplace topped by a large mirror, and a large wardrobe with hanging space.
On the north side, the grey bedroom, with two 90cm beds, parquet flooring, built-in cupboards with sliding doors including a wardrobe area. View over the neighbouring meadow with its beautiful Norman cows.
Upstairs, the Blue Room, with 140cm bedding, fitted carpet and chest of drawers.
Because a good night's sleep is fundamental to a successful relaxing holiday, all the bedding in the gîte is made up of slatted bases and Simmons pocket-spring mattresses.
The location of the gîte, in the middle of the countryside, ensures a relaxing holiday in Normandy.
All bed linen is provided (sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases).
Inside the HOLIDAY RENTAL
The cathedral living room, the centrepiece of the Bnb
Framed by the wooden beams of the beautiful roof structure that give it all its charm, the living room of the gîte de la Bannerie is a large living space with a height of almost 5 metres.
The numerous openings created in what was once the mill's granary ensure that there is plenty of pleasant light throughout the day, whatever the sometimes capricious Normandy weather. In the evening, the living room has a variety of light sources, including a chandelier, a bank of LED spotlights and several lamps.
The decoration of the gîte is sober and elegant, resolutely modern in an environment rural. Le structural timber blends with the taupe grey of the walls and the white of the screens to create a soothing, relaxing atmosphere. The multicoloured curtains and red sofas add a cheerful, dynamic touch.
At the far end of the living room is a sitting area with two chairs. comfortable sofas surrounding a coffee table and the video cabinet.
The gîte has a LCD television 80cm connected to a decoder TNT satellite, as well as a DVD player.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is also available.

Lastly, a relaxation area has been set up with two rattan armchairs surrounding the hi-fi system with CD player, tuner and docking station for iPod and iPhone.
